It’s Miami Art Week: PART 1

In case you missed the festivities in Miami this Art Basel, here’s a quick recap of the array of events you should’ve been at, ranging from fashion events to Star Island to the streets of Wynwood, we pretty much covered it all. Really, we didn’t even attend Art Basel itself, so this footage is more a recap of Miami Art Week 2012. People gotta realize that Art Basel is the major art fair that started this cultural renaissance in Miami, but every year the festivities are getting larger and larger with the birth of several other major fairs including UNTITLED, Context Art Miami, Scope, and Red Dot just to name a few. These fairs aren’t  the only thing creating a buzz in Miami during Art Week, there is also a variety of smaller satellite fairs and galleries in Midtown, Wynwood and the Design District, creating a frenzy for art enthusiasts to feed their minds with the spectrum of what we perceive to be art. Our place has been and always will be the streets, getting down and dirty with graffiti artists and muralist from around the world, blessing our humble streets with a taste of culture that transcends geographic boundaries. There is one thing we can all be certain of, Miami is well on it’s way to becoming a cultural mecca for the Arts and our country.
